Sat down on the thinking chair and thought about how I spend my holidays so far. Hmm... Wait, let me check my calendar. Oh, 4 weeks had passed. Haha. =) I didn't work this holiday, for the very first time. Only tuition which takes up a few hours for two days only. Then, for the rest of the days, I went out with friends or just stayed home.
I think and I think... Memories flowed back to the time where I had my very first holiday job. When I am in secondary 3, my friend reccommended me to work as surveyor for LTA (Land Transport Authority). Formed a group of 4s then proceed to the designated bus-stops. 2 on each side of the road with vehicles moving towards the city or from city. This job trains our eye power. With taxis moving at high speed, we have to count how many pax is in there. Worse when many taxis vroomed past us at one go, thats when the things get messy. Wa, we anyhow drow strokes to account for it le. 1st job to me(if this count): Fun and enjoyable.
Next job in secondary 3 dec holidays(reccommended by my friend), distribute flyers not to people that are walking on the street but placed it on the cars. Most important thing: Good stamina, perseverance. Not so good money I can say. But no choice, I am still under 16 that time.
Moving on to telemarketeer in secondary 4 dec holiday, first time went for interview with my friends. Lots of failures and transport fees wasted. Almost on the verge of giving up. Sian, finding a temp job is so hard. Finally found one at circular road, raffles place, an image consultancy, make appointments with the clients thats all. Only required 4 hours of my time everyday, $7 per hour. I was quite satisfied at that time.
Another telemarketer job at an asia pac company, at havelock road. Hmm. Stepped into the company for the first time. I was wowed by how things are done there. Haha. The proj managers were serious people. Then to another group of people, being temps like me, were more sociable. Talk, laugh, had lunch together. :) Brings back good memories to me. Made friends over there. Completed the project on time and my proj manager treated the whole team to Swensons. Yea! :) Then, I was transferred to the data entry part where I made a mess out of it. First timer and it affected some of the proj team mates. Of cos, the proj manager was angry with me. Coming to the bad memories part le... Well, I choose to rmb the good things so thats all for the scolding part.
Haha. After that, went to an audit firm reccommended by my aunt. Worked there for 1 month plus. Learned quite a bit over there about accounting. Thanx to the seniors. =)
Finally, back to now, a tutor. Happy as ever. Flexible timing, more time for my own things, sufficient rest. No long office hours. No squeezy mrt during the peak hours. Haha. Wonder how will my impression changed when I look back at these jobs in future, perhaps 3 years later? :)
