Hey all, I am back... Wow. Updating my blog after such a long time. Really busy these few days at work cos audit now peak period. I have really so much work piling up on the table. Glad that my boss had hired one more new audit staff to help us cope with the intense workload.
Let me start off with Monday. It was really a memorable day for me having to be able to go out with my boss to another client's office to audit. Basically, I did nothing but just did some simple vouching. Hmm... It was really fun to be able to go to another new environment instead of cooping up in thr office the whole day doing the paper work. Haha. Along the way, we did chat a bit as it was quite a distance from our office over to client's place. He explained to me about the difference between audit and accounting. Haha.. I simply nodded my head. When we stepped into the office, he went to have a chat with the boss over there. I stayed outside and talked to Serene the accountant of the company. Hmm, she showed me where the invoices, GL, bank statements, AP and AR were to beter facilitate me while I do the vouching. During lunch, three of us went over to the opposite building where the small coffee shop was located. The afternoon crowd were there as usual and we managed to find a place. I didn't talk much during lunch as most of the conversations were between the two more senior staffs. Haha.. I managed to learn more about their personal matters as the two of them chat.
Back to work, I started doing the real vouching test for all the accounts. It was relaly tiring as I have to comb through all the thick ring files for all the relevant documents. It was as though I was working as a coolie and not a temp staff for the audit firm. The good thing about there was that the radio channel yes 93.3 was on all the while. I can listen to the radio while I worked was such a good thing that I could not enjoy at my own office. In addition, their working hour was damn flexible start at 9a.m and end at 5p.m. So cool. Besides that, the staff over there would leave the office at work at around 4.30p.m if they had completed their work. I followed their working hours there too for the three days that I was there to audit. =) Something great about him is that after work, he sent me over to Braddel station so that it is more convenient for me to get home. Haha. This saves me the trouble to take a bus and then a MRT to get home. The three days there were really shiok as I got home at 6p.m sharp. Haha... I even told him about the G2000 warehouse sale that I brought Charis they all to at Aljunied. Haha, he wanna buy a jacket for his lectures and seminar and I thought that was a good place to get a good bargain.
Then for thursday, I stayed in the office and try to complete my things. But, I didn't manage to do that. Even Carina had to help mi to do some of the work while I was out. Hmm.. thanks to her... =) And some more, I did something funny in the office on that fateful day. I was in his room as he was explaining to me the relevant things to be done after having complete the audit over at the client's office. He couldn't see without his specs and me acting like his daughter I took his specs on the table to him. LOL. It was really funny. Haha. Oh, I remembered a few days back, I did something which I shouldn't have done so as he was my superior. It was lunchtime and we are about to go for lunch together. My table was so messy and the floor ws filled with all the files. He said, "Let's go for lunch." And, mind you, guess what I replied, I said, " Later" He then went over to the door and wait for me as though I was his superior or whatever. Goodness. I couldn't believe it that I did such a thing to my boss. Haha.. Knowing my mistake, I will have to perform better in the next few days le. Gambette. =)
