It's into my second week of working in the audit firm. And guess what, my boss called Charis this morning before he even reached the office. This particular phone call causes me to worry the whole morning till after lunch.
" He's bringing me out to the client's office to do audit."
My first thought was, "Oh no. I am in deep trouble. I know nothing about audit. Will I lose my job should I not perform well in his presence and the client, an added pressure for me. Like how all of you know me, I am the sort who can get panicky over the slightest thing in the world. This time was really serious. With the added rumours about him from my fellow colleagues, I was really wary of him. Furthermore, I did not really have a good impression of him since I stepped into the office from the very first day. Hmm... But too bad, the work was not finished due to some probkems with the client's accounts and had to go back to the client's office next week.
The comical part was when he was about to bring me out for audit afer lunch. "Ding Dong! " the door bell rang. It was him, he said, " Sharon, bring your bag together with stationery and working paper. " I gave him a nod and left with him leaving behind my beloved colleagues who joked around with me during work and haveour snacks in the mid sfternoon. I missed all those. With him, my movements seem to be restricted. Hmm... I thought he was going to drive me over to the client's office. But, he suddenly blurted this out when I wasall ready, " It will be a 15 minutes walk over there". I was like what the hell we are walking over there and both of us.
The thought of it was so awkward. Haha... I managed to finish the task if not I wouldn't be here typing my blog. LOL.
Hmm... Along the 15 minutes walk there, he had a brief chat with me and it was always him who initiated the coversation. U know, I am the very QUIET type... Haha. He even introduced the buildings we passed by if he was a tour guide and me, not being a pure Singaporean, what a shame. I was embarrassed and he even says I am "shua gu". That part so ulu, who in the right mind will go there, f.y.i its another part of Bugis. I only know Bugis as a shopping paradise with BHG, Bugis Junction, Bugis Street and more shops. But, nothing of the sort that he brought me to. Fine with it, I kept quiet. He even described one of the buiding for me. It went like this, " This is really a unique building. When all the lights lighted up at night, this will look like a space craft" I was like 'duh' who cares if it was like a space craft, I was hoping the walk could end as soon as possible.
Upon reaching the client's office, there was even more problems created. The accountant in the company obviously knows nothing more about accounts beside debiting expenses and crediting revenue. the accruals was all in the wrong side, all accounts not tally. Having us to question her over all the unclear accounts, she still dared to argue with my boss over the unbalanced accounts. Hmm, I left on the dot at 6p.m. Haha...
Thats all for today. It was really exciting day although I have to go out with him with a continuation on Monday. Heard from Henny that I have to go again to another client's office next week to another different company. Looking foward to Monday. Yea! :)
